ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiar with utility scale solar project designs including single line drawings, civil, structural, electrical site plans, DC and AC wiring diagrams and equipment layouts
- Understand the construction applications of solar power plant design, including PV string sizing, DC and AC conductor and conduit sizing, and racking / tracker design and powering
- Possess a knowledge of electrical and system studies required for plant designs
- Possess a general knowledge of civil designs including road design, plant grading design, drainage design, and permitting coordination
- Comfortable traveling cross-country to perform site visits and provide technical support to construction teams
- Have experience with substation design review and coordination at medium voltages (usually 34.5 kV) to point of interconnect
- Be Moss' design representative to clients and internal pre-construction and operational counterparts
- Organizing and drafting engineering related RFI's and handling high level problem solving in coordination with pre-construction and operational counterparts
- Have direct and relevant experience with the latest solar and battery storage equipment including solar panels, inverters / transformers, racking systems and battery systems
- General knowledge of solar plant SCADA requirements and design
- Ability to develop, review, and approve engineering scope of work documents for external engineering partners
- Other duties may be assigned
