Warehouse Associate

We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring that materials, tools, equipment, and products are efficiently received, stored, and distributed within the warehouse. This position is responsible for assisting in various warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling purchase orders, and maintaining warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
Essential Functions:
Receiving & Shipping:
- Process purchase orders, shipping orders, packing slips, receivers, and picking tickets.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Inspect incoming shipments for quality and accuracy, reporting discrepancies immediately.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Scan and enter serial numbers against required purchase orders.
Inventory Management:
- Read pick tickets/packing slips and accurately pull/fulfill material orders.
- Organize materials for shipment to job sites.
- Utilize warehouse management software and barcode scanners to track inventory.
- Place inventory on pallets or shelves for storage and keep the warehouse organized.
- Identify damage, loss, or surplus of inventory or tools.
- Perform weekly cycle counting and assist in physical inventory audits.
Warehouse Operations & Safety:
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and portable carts.
- Follow all safety codes and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Perform assigned facility maintenance duties as needed.
Delivery Responsibilities:
- Occasionally drive a company van to deliver materials to job sites across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license; a clean driving record is preferred.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of inventory control or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software is a plus.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic tracking systems.
