Job Summary
The Residential Counselor plays a vital role in providing support and care to residents in a residential home. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed to ensure the health and safety of residents.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
- Implement individualized support plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the facility.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address any medical concerns or changes in resident behavior.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in residential care.
Skills
- Experience working in a group home or similar residential setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies. CPR and First Aide Certified.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Ability to lift and assist residents as necessary for their mobility needs.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members.
