If so, DTY Hospitality is seeking an Executive Housekeeper for Motel 6 in Mankato.
Availability:
- Must be available for at least 5 shifts per week
- Shifts begin at 8am and end when rooms and all tasks are completed (approx. 6hrs).
- You must have availability to work every other weekend (or two - three weekends each month)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To lead the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. Plan and organize work, communicate goals and ensure proper coverage.
- Maintain a regular Inspection program to make sure that industry standards of cleanliness and operational standards are met.
- Interview and select housekeeping associates for hire. Provides effective orientation, training, coaching, evaluation, and motivation of housekeeping associates. Identifies and communicates performance expectations as well as policies and procedures to housekeeping associates.
- Put together schedules for the housekeeping team, sharing the schedule with GM. Working together to ensuring that there is enough coverage for busy days.
- Training in staff members on room cleaning techniques, standards, and how to respect guest property.
- Assist in cleaning of rooms as needed.
- Make sure that laundry and cleaning equipment is working properly. If a problem is discovered bring it to the attention of the General Manager (GM) and follow up on repairs.
- Communicates daily with the GM regarding daily expectations and tasks and communicates issues regarding the condition/availability of guest rooms to appropriate parties. Informs the appropriate department promptly regarding issues that may affect guest service. May be required to wear a walkie-talkie while on duty.
- Ensure company, federal, state, and local health, sanitation and safety standard and regulations are being maintained.
- Recommend budget, labor cost plans and objectives and manage within the approved plans.
- Partner with GM to purchase linens and housekeeping supplies when needed.
- Monitor and develop team member’s performance including conducting performance evaluations and delivering recognition.
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies in accordance with federal, state, local, and company regulations.
- Maintain open communication between management and employees.
- Check inventory of supplies, acting as necessary to ensure adequate quantity and quality of products. Report any needs to the GM.
- Ensures guest privacy and security at all times by maintaining an effective system of monitoring property and hotel key control.
- Follows and establishes policies and procedures for lost and found items.
- Keeps the GM promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school or equivalent education required.
- A minimum of two years of hotel housekeeping experience.
- Previous management/supervisory experience is preferred, but not required.
- Understand and efficiently operate a computer.
- Must have strong leadership skills.
- Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written directions and communicate both verbally and in writing.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to see differences in widths and lengths of lines.
