Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Present menus, take orders, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Accurately input orders into the POS system and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are prepared correctly and meet quality standards.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings.
- Manage guest relations by addressing any concerns or special requests with professionalism.
- Process payments efficiently while adhering to restaurant policies.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in the dining area, ensuring tables are set properly for each service.
- Assist in training new staff members on restaurant procedures and service standards as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on guest relations and sales techniques.
- A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food service operations and kitchen procedures is beneficial.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift items as necessary to perform job duties effectively.
