Summary
Prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and snack for the children enrolled in the Child Care Center Plans weekly menus Develops shopping lists Calculates amount of food and makes purchases Organizes and cleans kitchen according to health department standards Maintains nurtritional requirements as identified by CACFP program Duties
Proposes menus for daily meals and snack on a weekly basis and submits to the director for nutritional content and budget review. Prepares weekly shopping list to support approved menus and purchases items. Prepares meals and snack to be served on schedule identified by director; serving children during mealtime. Maintains proper food measurements for meals in accordance with the CACFP program. Cleans and maintains kitchen area in a sanitary, safe and organized manner as requited by the Center and health department. Completes all required training and professional development sessions for ABC, DSS and CACFP program. Supports the values and institutional goals as defined in the Center. Promotes positive morale and teamwork within the center and provides exceptional customer service to parents, staff and community. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements
2 years experience cooking in a liscensed daycare. High School Diploma or GED equivalent Successful background check Must have a clear Tuberculosis (TB) Test not older than 1 year Must have Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificate or become certified with 4 weeks of hire Must have CACFP training or become trained on the next available online class A strong commitment to the center's mission Ability to maintain a safe and sanitary food preparation area Ability to relate to and work effectively with staff and young children Ability to be flexible and adjust to varied situations Ability to maintain appropriate and professional behavior at all times Ability to communicate effectivley and courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills Experience working with children from 2 months to 12 years of age Nice To Haves
