Position Title: Program Coordinator
Responsible to: Assistant Executive Director
Summation of Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Management team in the delivery of all services to the residents of the program.
2. Monitor, supervise, and maintain the 5-step program. Provide communication to all staff regularly with residents’ status and needs.
3. Assist the Case Manager in coordinating school and/or work activities for each resident as needed.
4. Coordinate the daily living, recreational, and house activities to meet residents' needs. Approve, organize, arrange, and schedule outings, appointments, and transportation for residents to all planned activities, educational classes, and emergency situations.
5. Maintain and oversee the resident’s simulated money program and allowances. Oversee and maintain a clean and organized in-house store for residents to shop. Schedule in-house shopping times for all residents.
6. Provide a monthly activities calendar and conduct resident’s house meetings with the assistance of the Assistant Executive Director.
7. Assign weekly house chores to the residents. Supervise the daily routines and behaviors of the residents.
8. Create, implement, schedule, and supervise in-house practical life-skills classes including but not limited to such topics as parenting, birth, nutrition, life-skills, money management, exercise, etc. Make updates and changes as needed.
9. Assume the duties of other staff members as the result of vacation schedules, illness or absences as necessary and assigned by the Assistant Executive Director.
10. Create, organize and keep up to date the weekly and weekend Google Calendars, weekend communicator, and white board for staff.
11. Attend monthly staff meeting, weekly case consultation meeting, and weekly supervision meeting with Assistant Executive Director.
12. Submit required monthly reports to Assistant Executive Director and Executive Director.
13. Aid in the development of curriculum for future programming.
14. Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Executive Director or Executive Director.
Qualifications for the Position:
1. Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant past work experience. Master’s degree highly preferred. First Aid, CPR and MedTech certificates required.
2. Experience: Knowledge and experience working with teenagers, single parents, homeless, and care of newborns. General knowledge of running a household and family structure. Ability to develop curriculum and teach/instruct others relating to necessary life skills.
3. Character: Good interpersonal skills, reputable character, values and ethical standards conducive to the well being of the population.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age.
5. Must be able to pass a Child Abuse/Neglect background check, fingerprint and a Criminal background check.
6. Must pass medical exam, TB skin test and drug screening test.
7. Must provide agency with three positive character references, all professional references for the past 5 years, and any jobs working with children.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and must have current car insurance.
Requirements for the Job:
1. Hours: 40 hours per week. Weekends and some holidays may be required. Hours may vary if needed to cover other shifts. Will be scheduled for regular on-call rotation.
2. Must be able to climb stairs, use limbs to lift at least 50 pounds, and care for infants, toddlers, and residents without assistance.
3. Dress Code: Conservative casual clothing is acceptable in the shelter. Dress clothing should be worn while attending meetings, community functions and representing Mother’s Refuge to the public.
