Description
An Outside Sales Representative (OSR) is responsible for profitably growing sales with an established group of customers. OSRs will establish and maintain relationships with existing customers, identify new opportunities, and close those opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Achieve sales goals by retaining existing customers and developing new business
- Uncover and define opportunities to sell MCE products and services
- Provide recommendations, and solutions for products and services to meet customer needs
- Prepare quotations and proposals, and close transactions
- Maintain a rigorous level of activity, initiating sales calls and presenting solutions
- Develop relationships with those responsible for making the buying decision in each customer’s facility
- Oversee delivery, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems
- Work with engineering and technical staff to clarify customer needs and develop specifications
- Research local markets and competition to identify sales opportunities and threats
- Develop an understanding customers’ core business profit drivers
- Demonstrate the value of distribution to customers
- Diligent utilization of CRM to manage opportunities, sales activity, customer information, and achieve sales results
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Results-oriented sales professional with a minimum of 3 - 5 years sales experience
- Background in industrial distribution a plus
- Industrial sales experience with fluid power products preferred
- Proven sales skills including the ability to establish relationships with purchasing decision makers, uncover needs and
- opportunities, define MCE’s values that solve those needs, propose solutions, and close opportunities
- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives
- Excellent communication skills with strength in customer presentations
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong work ethic and desire to meet customer needs
- Associate Degree in Business, Sales or Marketing a plus
- Valid driver’s license required
KNOWLEDGE
- Working knowledge and understanding of industrial products including hydraulic and mechanical knowledge of HPUs,
- system design and testing, pumps, cylinders, valves, etc.
- Working knowledge of industrial customers including; assembly, fabrication, manufacturing, power units, lubrication
- systems, and electrical controls
- Working knowledge of Excel and Office 365 required
- Proven mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail
