Job Title: Hand Therapist
Job Type: Part-time (Mon and Wed to start. After some training Tue and Fri; 12-16 hours per week. Some flexibility; Open to further discussing schedule during interview.)
Job Location: 99-52 66th Road, Rego Park, NY (Queens; outpatient clinic)
Hourly Range: $53.00 - $60.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities
Hand Therapist responsibilities include ...
- Assessing patients' strengths and weaknesses.
- Devising creative treatment plans for individuals suffering from injuries or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases.
- Provide excellent 1:1 care for your patients, spending an average of 40 minutes with each person.
- Helping patients restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
- Encouraging patients along the road to recovery.
- Medical specialties at the clinic include all hand therapy, with PT, CHT to supervise.
- Adults outpatient caseload.
Qualifications
- NYS Occupational Therapist License
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
- Basic computer skills
- CPR and first aid certification required
- CHT certification a plus
- MUST have at least 3 years of experience working as a licensed therapist in an ortho outpatient clinic with Hand Therapy treatments; No new grads OR
- Level 2 fieldwork experience in hand therapy, some continuing education courses, and 1-2 years of experience in outpatient hand therapy as a licensed OT
- Must be familiar with treating hand and upper extremity orthopedic conditions.
