Job Title : Hand Therapist

Job Type : Part-time (16 hours per week to start; Two 8-hour workdays moving to three 8-hour workdays as volume increases. Will further discuss work schedule during interview.)

Job Location : 23-22 30th Avenue, Astoria, NY (Queens; outpatient clinic)

Hourly Range : $50.00 - $60.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities :

Hand Therapist responsibilities include ...

Assessing patients' strengths and weaknesses.

Devising creative treatment plans for individuals suffering from injuries or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases.

Provide excellent 1 : 1 care for your patients, spending an average of 40 minutes with each person.

Helping patients restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.

Encouraging patients along the road to recovery.

Medical specialties at the clinic include orthopedics, sports medicine, and neuro hand therapy.

Adolescents to adults outpatient caseload.

Qualifications :

NYS Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist License

Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success

Basic computer skills

CPR and first aid certification required

CHT certification a plus

1-2 years of experience working as a licensed therapist in an ortho outpatient clinic with hand therapy treatments preferred; Open to new grads.

CHT eligible (accumulated 4000 hours of hand therapy experience and 3 years of experience) waiting to sit for boards OR level 2 fieldwork experience in hand therapy, some continuing education courses, and 1-2 years of experience in outpatient hand therapy as a licensed OT / PT a plus

Must be familiar with treating upper extremity orthopedic conditions.
