Cleared Information Systems Security Engineer
This company is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support cybersecurity operations in a high-security environment. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls, ensuring compliance with DoD security policies, and mitigating risks to protect critical systems. The ISSE will work closely with the ISSM/ISSO to analyze security trends, assess system vulnerabilities, and develop security documentation.
The company is located in Lorton, VA and will require 5 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Analyze and report security posture trends at both the organizational and system levels.
- Apply security policies to meet system security objectives and ensure compliance.
- Assess and implement access controls following least privilege and need-to-know principles.
- Evaluate configuration management and change control processes.
- Implement security measures to mitigate risks, resolve vulnerabilities, and recommend system security enhancements.
- Develop and test failover procedures for system operations transfer to alternate sites.
- Ensure security operations and maintenance activities are properly documented.
- Assist in security risk management, including system security planning and risk assessments.
- Monitor and investigate security breaches while educating personnel on security best practices.
- Support the ISSM/ISSO in achieving and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) certification.
- Hands-on experience in security tools such as ePO, Splunk, ACAS, WSUS, Active Directory GPOs, and STIG/SCAP.
- Experience with cloud platforms (ideally Azure).
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification required (e.g., Security , CySA , GSEC, CCNA Security).
