A fast-growing payments startup focused on facilitating payouts to creators and their collaborators globally is seeking a Senior API Product Owner to lead the development and evolution of their API product. Their dynamic and collaborative team is dedicated to
revolutionizing the way creators get paid.
This role is hybrid in Nashville, Tennessee - alternating 2 - 3 days a week in office. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of API technologies, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering and managing API products.
What You'll Do:
? Establish and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the API product portfolio, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
? Identify and prioritize features and improvements based on market trends, customer input, and company goals.
? Develop and uphold a detailed and realistic product roadmap for the API offerings.
? Partner with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, marketing, and sales, to guarantee alignment with organizational priorities.
? Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to collect requirements, understand customer needs, and ensure successful product launches.
? Interact with customers to gather feedback and insights, driving continuous product enhancement.
? Collaborate with development teams to define API specifications, focusing on scalability, security, and user-friendliness.
? Develop and maintain thorough API documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
? Proven experience working with public facing APIs
? Strong knowledge of API design principles and RESTful architecture.
? Familiarity with API management tools and platforms.
? Proficient with the OpenAPI specification and using Swagger for API documentation.
? Hands-on experience with Azure-based applications.
? Experience implementing user tracking and engagement metrics to analyze API usage patterns.
? Understanding of potential API abuse and strategies to mitigate such risks.
? Experience working in Agile environments and writing Agile user stories in Jira or other issue tracking systems.
Desired Skills & Experience:
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
? Familiarity with the creative field or music industry
? Experience within the payment processing space
