About the Role
We are seeking a Business Development Manager – Regulatory to support our Energy, Environment, and ESG practices. This role is critical in developing and executing business development and marketing strategies to enhance client engagement, grow market share, and position the firm as a leader in regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Development & Market Growth
Develop and implement targeted business development plans for the Energy, Environment, and ESG practice areas.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify business opportunities, industry trends, and emerging regulatory developments.
Collaborate with partners and attorneys to drive cross-practice business development initiatives.
Identify and facilitate strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and industry networking opportunities to enhance practice visibility.
Client Development & Pitch Management
Lead the creation of compelling pitches, proposals, and RFP responses to attract new clients and expand existing relationships.
Provide strategic input on client targeting and relationship management initiatives.
Develop attorney business development plans and offer coaching on client outreach and engagement.
Thought Leadership & Content Strategy
Manage the development of thought leadership, client alerts, white papers, and industry reports to showcase the firm’s regulatory expertise.
Oversee practice rankings, award submissions, and directory listings (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500).
Work with marketing and communications teams to promote high-profile matters and regulatory insights.
Qualifications & Experience
5 years of business development experience within a law firm or professional services environment supporting regulatory practices.
Strong knowledge of Energy, Environmental, or ESG regulatory frameworks and market trends.
Proven experience executing successful business development strategies in a legal or professional services setting.
Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive pitches and marketing materials.
Experience with CRM tools (e.g., InterAction, Salesforce) and legal industry databases.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
