Data Analyst

One of the largest building materials manufacturers in North America is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join their team on a hybrid basis at their headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. The Data Analytics Engineer will work closely with stakeholders across multiple business functions to transform requirements into scalable analytical solutions. The ideal candidate has strong SQL expertise, experience with Google BigQuery, and proficiency in Tableau, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data-driven analytical solutions, working closely with business users to understand requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Analyze data in Google BigQuery using SQL and provide recommendations for data products needed in Tableau.
• Maintain and enhance existing analytical solutions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud administration, including monitoring environments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system performance.
• Design and implement Tableau Cloud security models, managing user access and permissions.
• Curate and publish standardized data sources for business users within Tableau Cloud.
• Serve as a backup Server Administrator, responsible for installing and deploying new versions of Tableau software across lifecycle environments.
• Manage and optimize Tableau Server task schedules, monitoring system usage and identifying areas for performance improvements.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to resolve network/server-related issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-3 years of experience with Tableau design and implementation, working with end-users to define analytical needs.
• Experience working with Google BigQuery and SQL for data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and database technologies.
• Experience in application development, testing, and programming techniques.
• Understanding of multidimensional analytics solutions and business intelligence best practices.
• Basic knowledge of information security policies and IT standards.
