Overview
As the Government Affairs Manager in Washington, D.C., you'll be accountable for monitoring legislative and regulatory developments affecting company interests, developing advocacy strategies, and building relationships with government officials and industry associations.
You'll represent our company's positions to key stakeholders while identifying political opportunities to advance our business objectives through effective communication and strategic relationship management in the federal policy landscape.
Responsibilities
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that present opportunities or threats to company interests
- Develop and implement strategic action plans to influence policy changes that advance company objectives
- Build relationships with elected officials, legislative committees, and federal agencies to advocate for company positions
- Coordinate with trade associations, business coalitions, and industry groups to align support for company interests
- Identify and leverage political engagement opportunities including PAC activities and stakeholder events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, political science or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislative processes and regulatory impacts on private sector
- Understanding of public policy dynamics affecting business, markets and the economy
- Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Exceptional communication abilities including persuasive public speaking and writing skills
- Business acumen to effectively translate company needs into the political arena
What Makes You Standout
- Three or more (3 ) years of experience managing government relations for a trade association or corporate office
- Three or more (3 ) years of experience working for a Member of Congress, legislative committee and/or regulatory office
- Expertise in managing issues and developing policy proposals
- Three or more (3 ) years of project management experience
- Graduate degree in law, business, policy or related field
Salary : $124,000 - $184,000
