Physical Access Controls Applications Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC, 28262 (Hybrid)

Term: 12 Months contract (W2 Only)

Note: Lenel OnGuard and or AMAG Symmetry experience required

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced PACS Application Integration Specialist to manage the integration, configuration, and lifecycle of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), such as Lenel OnGuard or AMAG Symmetry. The role focuses on ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and enhancement of security access control applications while supporting backend integration and application lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

System Management & Integration:

• Install, configure, and maintain PACS platforms, including Lenel OnGuard or AMAG Symmetry.
• Integrate PACS with backend systems, including databases, networks, and other enterprise systems.
• Manage software lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, testing, certification, and embedding software links.
• Work closely with vendors to set up, configure, and troubleshoot systems.

Access Management:

• Handle badge provisioning and approval processes for users.
• Configure access controls and troubleshoot user profiles within the PACS.
• Ensure compliance with access management policies and standards.

Hardware Support:

• Install and configure hardware components such as door controllers, card readers, and biometric devices.

Application Operations Support:

• Provide application-level troubleshooting and support for PACS platforms.
• Manage code releases, patch releases, and the deployment of new application features.
• Support Agile workflows and assist in standing up new capabilities within PACS.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and vendors, to implement solutions.
• Provide documentation and training for system operations and updates.

Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Hands-on experience with PACS platforms like Lenel OnGuard or AMAG Symmetry.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP), databases (SQL), and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
• Experience in application integration, access controls, and security technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud-based applications and environments.

Lifecycle Management:

• Proven experience managing application lifecycles, including upgrades, testing, and certification.

Other Skills:

• Agile project management experience is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

Preferred Experience:

• 3 years of experience with PACS platforms or similar security systems.
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles.
• Background in configuring and supporting enterprise applications.
