Senior Software Engineer / Insurance / Java / ETL

A reputable insurance company based in Philadelphia is urgently hiring a Senior Java Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to cutting-edge analytics platforms in a 100% remote environment.

The ideal candidate has 6 years’ experience in Java, Scala, Spark, AWS Lambda, REST APIs, and Microservices. In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining backend Java applications for an analytics platform while also developing and managing data pipelines using Scala and Spark.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications using Java for an analytics platform.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Scala and Spark.
• Work on microservices and AWS Lambda-based systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services and data pipelines.
• Contribute to a fast-paced, agile environment with a focus on software development and data engineering.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Scala, Spark, and AWS Lambda.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Hadoop and ETL processes is a plus.
• Experience with software development and data pipelining in an enterprise environment.
