What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainability Specialist position at Motion Recruitment?
Our client, a global industrial technology company, is looking for a Sustainability Implementation Practitioner to join their team in Lexington, Kentucky! This is an onsite position so local candidates are required.
In this role, you will conduct research and studies on which sustainable packaging products are best suited for implementation at the local site, including coordinating formalized testing at laboratories. You will also coordinate with manufacturing, process, and procurement on implementing new sustainable materials.
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering
- Experience with component replenishment / kanban / related material handling tasks
- Experience in a new product development environment or related stage gate process awareness
- Knowledge of verification and validation process / approvals process for new product development
- Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations and others)
Desired Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering
- 5 years of experience in packaging / shipping processes and related equipment.
- Experience in SAP production software
What You Will Be Doing
- Provide hypercare for new sustainable materials that have been implemented, and continuously resolve issues with new implementations.
- Assist with reporting to PP/PS Sustainability team on project updates and completions.
- Conduct financial impacts per project, including cost analysis, cycle time analysis, etc.
- Assist with any XFMEA analysis that is required for each implementation.
- Assist with work instruction modifications. Document the technical and generic specifications of the packaging process including line layouts, station layouts, capacity and workload balancing, preferred component usage, etc.
- Ensure assembly process deliverables are aligned with global assembly process practices
