What are the responsibilities and job description for the Windows System Administrator position at Motion Recruitment?
We are working with an oil and gas distribution company that is looking for an IT System Administrator to join their IT team on a full-time direct hire basis.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience doing administration on both systems and network. In addition to having a basic understanding of security and firewall best practices and protocols. In the position you will be working on a small IT team to ensure that their infrastructure is functional and secure for their end users. You'll also assist leadership and senior level engineers with acquisitions and IT based projects, so having a willingness to adapt and learn is needed.
Tech wise, they need someone experienced with Windows, Meraki, VMware and / or Hyper-V, Active Directory, Office 365, disaster recovery, backups, and support for network administration tasks such as configuring firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
This is a direct hire position, onsite (with some remote flexibility) in their Asheboro / Greensboro, North Carolina office. There is a 20% travel component to help with network maintenance / upgrades in their off-location offices across the US.
Required Skills & Experience
- Background in Windows System Administration - supporting Active Directory and Office 365.
- Wireless Meraki network administration experience - with some basic knowledge of firewalls and network security.
- Strong knowledge base in virtualization technologies like VMware and / or Hyper-V.
- Experience with backups and disaster recovery tools and practices.
- Experience supporting hardware, software, and systems.
- Basic understanding of security best practices and policies.
