What are the responsibilities and job description for the Violin/Viola Teacher position at Motion Studio - Music Department?
We are looking for an experienced violin/viola teacher to join our education team at our fine arts education establishment. If you teach violin/viola as well as any other instruments, even better!
The job is to teach private music lessons on a weekly basis to students who enroll.
Our teachers have the ability to choose their hours and days, as long as we have a teaching room available. Those hours will then be reserved for you to run your classes every week. We are flexible on sick days and can accommodate a variety of scheduling situations.
Our violin teacher had to leave us for personal reasons, so we are looking to fill the absence. We do not have a ton of violin students to offer, as we are only just starting to offer violin/viola at our facility. We currently have four students from the prior teacher and then three additional students on our waitlist for violin/viola. So if all of those students are still interested, that would be a starting shift of about 3.5 hours to start, with the hope of accumulating more students as the months go on.
We would be looking to plan ahead and potentially schedule and set their initial trial lessons starting in March, so there is still time to accumulate more students. Once we know a teacher will be joining us, we will push advertising for the new music classes availability. You can choose to fill as many or as few hours with students as you wish, as long as you realize you will be committed to teach those hours on a regular basis.
The prior teacher taught Saturday mornings. However, schedule is flexible, and we also have an open teaching room friday evening as well.
Starting pay is anywhere feom $20 per hour to $30 per hour depending on your experience and will adjust and raise going forward with your experience.
We do not allow Suzuki methods, but beyond that, you are free to use whichever methods you see fit.
We hold two recitals a year. If your students choose to be in them, we will expect you to be there that Saturday to be with them. You will get paid for these hours, and we typically run rehearsals on fridays and recitals on Saturdays.
If you have any questions about the position, I will be very happy to answer them! Thank you.
