Motis Manufacturing Center is looking for a full-time Aluminum Polisher in Germantown, WI.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 5:30am - 3:30pm with limited overtime as needed
Based in Germantown, Wisconsin, Motis Manufacturing Center has been manufacturing lightweight aluminum ramp systems for over 30 years. Using innovative designs and lightweight aluminum alloys, Motis Manufacturing Center has created a unique product assortment that enables our customers to solve loading, hauling or transportation challenges safely and at a reasonable cost. Our lightweight aluminum products are far superior to steel alternatives as they never rust, are light and easy to handle but are built-strong to never fail.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Polishes, grinds and cleans metal surfaces.
- Removes excess weld as needed.
- Cleans welds to remove discoloration.
- Removes sharp edges by deburring.
- Performs minor final assembly work.
- Adds product labels for internal and external requirements.
- Performs final inspection to insure product conformance to internal and external standards.
- Use of measuring tools and other equipment to verify the dimensions, tolerances, and other critical features of the product.
- Keep work area organized and clean.
- Maintains tools and tooling inventory.
- Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury.
- Follows and participates in lean processes and kaizen events regarding manufacturing process.
- Follows all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. This may include wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and using appropriate safety equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as welders and quality control personnel, to ensure that the aluminum welded products are produced to the required specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain a clean work environment and follow 5S procedures.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Detail oriented with strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Able to use power hand tools.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable
Essential physical requirements include:
- Ability to stoop, bend and kneel, squat, kneel and pulling
- Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs.
- Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs)
- Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment.
- Standing, sitting and walking
- Performing repetitive motions
