Position Overview :
Motiva is seeking a highly skilled Construction Director, Aromatics Project to lead and oversee construction teams. Reporting directly to the Project Director, Aromatics, this leader will partner with project stakeholders, internal customers, third-party vendors and cross-functional teams to structure, develop and deliver effective construction project outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in managing complex construction projects, using advanced project methodologies.
Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership and direction for Aromatics Project construction team, developing and implementing construction strategies to achieve business and operational goals while meeting constraints imposed by customers, budgets, strategic objectives, and external factors.
- Partner with senior leaders to prioritize resources and ensure project alignment with corporate goals.
- Build and manage a high-performing team of construction professionals, mentoring and coaching staff, and efficiently leveraging 3rd party consulting capabilities as needed.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and management of processes, methods, and technologies to optimize project outcomes and resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company objectives.
- Manage all aspects of construction, including contractor selection and performance management, procurement, scheduling, and site operations.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with corporate objectives, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Monitor project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, leveraging operational data and analytics to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Make recommendations that align with business objectives, providing actionable insights for leadership.
- Establish and enforce safety and quality standards across all phases of the project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering and procurement, to ensure project alignment and seamless execution.
- Foster strong relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide executive-level updates on construction progress, challenges, and strategic decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement by staying informed of industry trends and advances and implementing best practices, lessons learned, and innovative solutions.
