Position Overview :
The Process Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and conducting activities that pertain to unit operation and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure that all unit conditions and operations are in compliance with Motiva safety, environmental, and operating policies and procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Operate process related systems within critical limits.
- Implement Operating Procedures to ensure operational control and product quality.
- Conduct visual inspection of piping and equipment in the area and take corrective action if deficiencies are found.
- Monitor, adjust, and record process variables as required to ensure safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant operations.
- Select, use, and maintain personal protective equipment.
- Complete all compliance activities on time (i.e. mandatory training, hearing tests, respirator fit test, medical evaluations, etc.).
- Ensure reliability centered maintenance is performed.
- Secure or remove all equipment according to Inclement Weather Procedures.
- Issue permits for all activities within the assigned process area in accordance with the Permit Procedure.
- Control personnel entry into and around assigned operating area through the use of documentation and barricades as detailed in procedures.
- Check all piping to ensure blinds and / or plugs are in place.
- Document all pertinent shift activities in end-of-shift write-up.
