This role offers a unique opportunity to build and mature an EHS program at our Motivair Buffalo manufacturing location. The Safety & Environment Manager will establish regulatory compliance and collaboratively implement Schneider Electric’s industry-leading EHS initiatives. This position is perfect for a proactive leader eager to make a meaningful impact while partnering with multi-disciplinary teams to foster a strong safety culture.
Objectives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations (State, Federal, and Schneider Electric standards).
- Develop and implement location-specific EHS programs and policies.
- Design and deliver training programs to build EHS awareness and capability.
- Lead incident/accident investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Conduct EHS audits and risk assessments, collaborating with site teams.
- Act as the site’s EHS point of contact for regulatory inquiries and permitting processes.
- Partner with facilities and operations teams to ensure fire and life safety controls are effective.
- Serve as a technical resource for management and lead the site safety committee.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement, Lean, and 5S initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned to support the site’s EHS evolution.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
Ideal Business Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an EHS role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Proven ability to work independently, deliver results, and engage effectively with senior leadership.
- Experience building or enhancing EHS programs is a plus.
Ideal Education, Skills, and Behaviors
- B.S. Degree in Environment, Health and Safety Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Solid understanding of EHS regulations and guidelines.
- Enthusiasm for growing an EHS program and integrating Schneider Electric’s proven safety practices.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $129,960.00 per year
