Motivational Systems, Inc. a signage and display company specializing in sign systems for the home and commercial building industry is currently seeking a Production Artist/Sign Shop Assistant for its growing Sacramento Division.
Summary Responsible for preparing artwork for production, assisting with sign fabrication, and performing general shop duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Utilize various graphical software tools and technologies to transform graphical concepts into specific electronic applications.
- Modify and implement designs generated by others to ensure quality, accuracy, and production feasibility.
- Make design changes based on feedback from management and users.
- Prepare and adjust artwork files to meet production specifications.
- Ensure artwork is formatted correctly for printing, cutting, and fabrication processes.
- Operate large-format printers, vinyl cutters, and other sign production equipment.
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of signage including cutting, finishing, and application of vinyl graphics.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace in compliance with company and safety policies.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with order specifications.
- Package and prepare orders for delivery or installation.
- May assist with on-site installation as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Basic knowledge of large-format printing, vinyl application, and shop tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to sign fabrication.
- Experience in sign production, large-format printing, or related industries a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This job requires standing, bending, reaching, and lifting materials.
- Exposure to dust, adhesives, and other materials commonly found in a sign production environment.
- Must be able to safely operate hand tools and use personal protective equipment as required.
