We are a project-based small business focused on mechanical and electrical system design and prototype builds with an emphasis on integrated electro-mechanical assemblies with embedded electronics.
About the Role
This position requires a passionate Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys being part of a tight-knit multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have six plus years of professional engineering experience with direct technical involvement on multiple prior electro-mechanical projects with embedded electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on engineering work, designing and developing complex systems and prototypes
- Mentoring less experienced colleagues and contributing to the growth of the team
- Developing and editing top-level system architectures
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Direct technical involvement on multiple prior electro-mechanical projects with embedded electronics resulting in deep understanding of motion / control systems theory and physics
- Strong ability to mentor less experienced colleagues
- Design experience with motors, motor controllers, power supplies, inverters / converters, and/or power electronics
- Prior professional experience with embedded electronics design containing microcontrollers, DSPs, programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD), memory, high speed signaling, MEMS sensors, etc
- Strong ability to handle concurrent fast-paced projects with minimal direction
- Development and editing of top level system architectures
- Familiarity with communication protocols like Controller Area Network (CAN), USB, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc
- Custom PCB design experience from schematic entry and board layout through fabrication, assembly, and test
- Familiarity and experience with high performance vehicles (electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric, race vehicles, Solar Car, Formula SAE, etc) including the design process and components
- Experience in design and fabrication for automotive environments (extreme temperature, shock, vibration, etc)
- Generate technical drawings of systems, components, and interfaces
- Experience with various battery chemistries and related battery management systems
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $130,000 per year, annual profit sharing estimates ranging from $11,000 - $26,000, company-wide profit sharing, high-quality insurance plans, 401k match, generous paid vacation time, and a Monday-Thursday 4/10 work week.
