We are seeking an experienced Structural Auto Body Technician to join our team of skilled professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repairing and restoring vehicles that have sustained structural damage due to accidents or other incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of structural damage on vehicles to determine the scope of repairs needed.
- Disassembling damaged vehicles to assess the extent of structural damage and identify any hidden damage.
- Repairing and rebuilding vehicle frames to factory specifications using specialized tools and techniques.
- Aligning frames and suspension systems to ensure proper vehicle handling and safety.
- Replacing damaged body panels and parts with new or used parts, depending on the customer's preference and budget.
- Utilizing specialized welding techniques to repair damaged metal parts, including MIG, TIG, and resistance welding.
- Utilizing computerized measuring systems to ensure proper alignment and repairs.
- Communicating effectively with team members and customers to ensure clear understanding of repair needs and timelines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair, with an emphasis on structural repairs.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and use of specialized tools and equipment.
- Experience in frame and suspension alignment.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders and technical manuals.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Relevant certification(s) such as ASE Structural Technician or I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred.
- Experience utilizing Car-O-Liner, Chief, Genesis, or Celette highly preferred.
