Job Description
Motor City Wash Works is looking for energetic and motivated candidates to staff its CNC Department in our manufacturing facility. As a member of the team some CNC Operator essential duties and functions are as follows.
Responsibilities
- Operate a CNC vertical milling center with minimal instruction
- Use standard measuring equipment. (Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gages, Etc.)
- Read blueprints and qualify parts to drawings
- Listen to and follow verbal instructions
- Set up clamps, positioners and metal blocking in an automatic computer controlled milling machine
- Load and operate CNC machine to make parts to specifications.
- Fill out work order and inventory use documents
- Push loaded carts to inventory aisles and unload parts into stock bins
- Work in a healthy team environment, assists others when able and as needed
Qualifications/Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read blueprints and qualify finished parts to drawing.
- Basic math skills. Understanding of fractions and decimals with measuring devices.
- Ability to work on your feet all day, moving continuously. Good physical condition. Lift 50 lbs. of metal repeatedly, every day. Most parts are under 10lbs.
- Forklift experience a plus, willingness to train to gain a forklift operators certificate
- Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Also, it is frequently required to sit; use hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
