What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts/Service Associate position at Motorcycle Mall?
Parts to Service Associate responsibilities will include, not be limited to:
- Work hand in hand with the Service Advisors and Service Managers to help and assist then in the overall service process
- Work with the Service Advisors, Service Technicians and Service Manager to look up parts for all the repair orders in the service department
- Assist the Service Advisors and Service Manager when it comes to quoting out service jobs for the service customers
- Work with the Service Scheduler / Service Manager who would be creating the service schedule for technicians to ensure that the parts are all here, available and staged for the Advisors to pull for the Technicians
- Grab parts for all the service jobs that the Advisors or Technicians ask you for when they are ready for the jobs to complete
- Follow up with Service Advisors throughout the service process – updating them when parts are backordered, when we can find parts online (with backorders) and/or giving solutions to the parts issues that will arise
- In a knowledgeable manner, recommend related parts and accessories for jobs that you will assist in quoting out – do not forget any gaskets, seals (internal parts that Technicians or Advisors might miss)
- Double and triple check the parts being requested so we do not miss any critical parts to the service jobs
- Take Service Advisors / Service Technicians orders for parts and get them added to the repair orders
- Supply cost of parts information to Service Advisors and Service Manager
- Keep a neat and organized parts to service area
- Notify Service Advisors on a regular basis updating them on their special orders, backorders, etc.
- · Work with Parts Managers to ensure that we stock all of the correct maintenance parts and items to keep the regular services flowing – we need those parts in-stock.
- Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for P & A management and Parts to Service system in place in the Parts Dept.
Qualifications we're looking for in our next employee:
- Retail Experience; ideally in a dealership setting (auto, moto, truck, etc.)
- Motorcycle, powersport or automotive parts sales experience is needed
- Product knowledge of the motorcycles, powersport products, scooters, etc. is needed
- Fluent in speaking Spanish a plus, but not needed
- Avid motorcycle rider / have a motorcycle license is a plus, but not needed
