The Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Video and Software division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure, AWS, and GCP to build at scale.

Job Description
The Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for:
- Design and implementation of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines into multiple public cloud regions
- Development and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions
- High availability and security of these services and the environments where they run
- Monitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure services, as well as metrics collection and related reporting
Responsibilities
- Scope, design, and develop custom software solutions utilizing the Elastic and/or Prometheus stacks on Kubernetes
- Operation of large Elasticsearch and Prometheus clusters
- Develop automation tools and services to minimize delivery time and increase developer productivity
- On-call work is required for services deployed and/or developed by the team
- Proven experience with building applications against and operating Elasticsearch and/or Prometheus clusters.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Comfortable switching between Java, Spring framework, Golang, and/or Python
- Familiarity with modern development operations tooling (Trace based application performance monitoring, docker containers, and similar)
- Experience mentoring more junior team members and leading development work by example
- Experience with GitHub Actions
- A background in Linux/Unix Administration
- Prior experience operating Elasticsearch and/or Prometheus clusters
- Prior experience being on-call for services developed by the team
- Demonstrated experience developing and deploying automation for services on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud
- Helm/Kubernetes/Docker
- Configuration as Code
- CI/CD
- Linux Administration and Shell Scripting
- Java 17 with Spring Boot, Go, and/or Python
- Git
- Working with Third Party Vendors and Open Source Projects
- Vulnerability Analysis
- Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs, or GCP PubSub
- IAM expertise (Azure Active Directory, AWS IAM or GCP IAM)
- Azure DevOps, Github Actions

- OR 5 years of software engineering experience
