The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Annex grounds.

Physical Demands/Strength
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk and use eye/hand/foot coordination. The employee is frequently required to stand, lift and carry at least 50 pounds, stoop, reach, handle, grasp, talk, and hear. The position requires light to medium work with a little physical effort.
Environmental Conditions
Moderate noise and occasional temperature changes.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position regularly requires weekend work and some evenings.
Full-time / 35-40 hours per week

Overview
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Annex grounds.
Essential Functions
- Notify Facility Supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. In the absence of the Facility Supervisor, notify the Facility Manager.
- Sweep and mop all tiled floors.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Spot clean carpeted areas as needed.
- Clean spills mirrors, tables, walls, fixtures, blinds, light fixtures, glass doors, refrigerators, microwave ovens, coffee makers fixtures, mirrors and windows.
- Clean and sanitize drinking fountains, water coolers, and restrooms using approved germicidal cleaners.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace trash liners (interior and exterior).
- Restock and touch up restrooms throughout the day.
- Disinfect all high-touch areas in offices and public spaces.
- Assist in cleaning of gallery spaces and exhibits.
- Pick up litter from around the building and grounds.
- Empty garbage and trash receptacles.
- Accept shipments and vendor deliveries, and place in the appropriate locations.
- Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and courteously with visitors, staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of janitorial procedures and ability to operate related equipment.
- Interactive and fast-paced team-oriented tasks.
- Ability to relate to persons of diverse backgrounds.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
- Comply with a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to strip and polish tile floor surfaces a plus.
