The Security Supervisor holds a critical position in upholding a safe environment at the Motown Museum and its properties. This person is responsible for overseeing daily security operations, managing a team of security staff, and ensuring compliance with all security protocols. The Security Supervisor provides guidance and support to the security team, ensuring the overall security and well-being of the organization.

Moderate to high noise and temperature changes.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hourly. This position regularly requires weekend work and evenings.
Travel
Some travel to the Museum’s facilities and outside event locations. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Overview
The Security Supervisor holds a critical position in upholding a safe environment at the Motown Museum and its properties. This person is responsible for overseeing daily security operations, managing a team of security staff, and ensuring compliance with all security protocols. The Security Supervisor provides guidance and support to the security team, ensuring the overall security and well-being of the organization.
Essential Functions
- Supervise daily security team operations, ensuring efficient task completion.
- Monitor surveillance and alarm systems, swiftly responding to security breaches or incidents.
- Investigate security incidents, accidents, and breaches, preparing comprehensive reports with improvement recommendations.
- Maintain diligent records that document all security-related incidents that occur on the Museum’ s properties.
- Alongside supervisory role, conduct routine patrols as needed.
- Conducts inspections for physical and safety hazards.
- Assists employees and visitors during emergencies.
- Robust leadership and supervision skills, proven through experience.
- Ability to inspire and efficiently manage security staff.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deescalate situations/conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, security management platforms, and incident reporting tools.
- Ability to understand and operate two-way radio, CCTV, access control systems, and alarms.
- Knowledge of security protocols.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain a composed demeanor during high-pressure situations.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred
- 5 years of related security experience is required
- Military or law enforcement background preferred
- Experience with security equipment and surveillance required
- Knowledge of First Aid/CPR/AED is preferred
