Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Farmington, CT

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all aspects of payroll processing (including off-cycle payroll transactions) for multiple company codes.
- Liaise with third-party payroll processor for international employee(s).
- Calculation of employee profit sharing, sales incentive and 401K employer match.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state and international payroll tax laws and best practices, including ability research solutions to resolve complex tax matters independently.
- Support quarterly and annual reporting activities such as 940 and 941 reports, W-2s, etc.
- Ongoing maintenance of employee benefits and 401K plan related activities – such as 401K loans, weekly confirmation of employee 401K deferral transmittals, administration and coordination with HSA and FSA providers, and employee tuition reimbursement and computer loan program.
- Support data extraction, internal controls, data quality and ad hoc payroll projects and internal payroll audits.
- Serve as main point of contact and coordinator of the annual benefit plan audit.
Major Challenges:
- Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Mott was recently acquired and is in a transitional period; various platforms, policies and processes are expected to change within the next year.
- Management of three payrolls with different pay frequencies and a diverse workforce spanning across approx. 20 states and an international presence.
Expected Performance Outcomes:
- Accurate and timely processing of payroll related activities.
- Implementation of automation solutions within payroll cycle.
- Contribute to continuous analysis and improvement of all payroll processes and procedures, including related operational processes.
- Successful implementation of Workday and transition from ADP.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience with Workday and ADP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
- Experience with Oracle Netsuite ERP is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical skills coupled with a solid understanding of business dynamics.
- Proficiency in multi-state payroll tax compliance matters.
- Proven track record of delivering on commitments, and working closely and effectively with peers and leaders cross-functionally.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant concentration.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll role.
- Experience with multi-state payroll required, experience in a global capacity is a plus.
- Experience with system implementations preferred.
