What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital solutions analyst position at Mott MacDonald?
Working as a Digital Solutions Analyst within the Moata business in North America, you will be working with other Moata team members and Mott Macdonald project teams to deliver leading-edge solutions within the Moata platform to our clients from various industries. By working together, you will help solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions in the field of physical and digital infrastructure using products within the Moata platform, all through effective communication, solution design and implementation and the application of robust data integration and reporting practices.
Key work activities involve working closely with a multi-discipline Project Team to identify customer needs, formulating solutions based on best fit innovative technologies, collaborating with the wider project team in preparing design requirements, and monitoring status of the solution implemented.

Solution Design & Analysis
- Work with Mott Macdonald project teams to understand and translate the project needs into requirements, design solution based on requirements and to translate the solution design into user stories and tasks.
- Work with the Moata Delivery manager and Moata teams to ensure that the tasks required are performed to deliver the digital solution. Once the tasks are completed, perform testing of the solution built before handing over the solution to project team representative.
- Acts as a bridge between the technical team in Moata and the project teams in Mott Macdonald and clients.
- Work closely with data engineers to understand the database objects and data structures to design, develop, deploy and maintain Power BI dashboards and Power BI Paginated reports.
- Develop, deploy, update and maintain Power BI Apps, Power Automate flows according to business needs.
- Analysis and modelling of data including tabular data models, DAX queries, analysis of data for insights.
- Working closely with Moata Delivery manager, Mott Macdonald project teams and Moata teams to ensure that solution is delivered with quality and on time.
Candidate Specification
The key skills required for the role are:
- 2 to 5 years’ experience plus appropriate degree in Engineering, IT or Computer Science or matching on the job experience
- Systems integration knowledge and experience will be an advantage
- More than 1 year of Power platform development experience is required
- More than 1 year of hands-on experience on SQL scripting and working with Azure SQL database is required
- Advanced knowledge of Power Automate, Power BI, Power BI paginated reports is required
- Ability to produce complex reports using Power BI and Power BI Paginated reports is required
- Hands-on experience to integrate Power BI Reports into PowerApps will be an advantage
- Good communication skills, able to understand and work with users from all departments
- Self-motivated and creative in applying innovative thinking in solving complex problems
- Professional and respectful when participating on matrix teams
- Detail oriented with excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to deliver product solutions in a structured environment using company templates and tools (e.g., design, delivery and deployment experience of Business Intelligence projects)
- Commitment to continuous professional development;
- Understanding of good information and document and data management and organization
