Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Originator to join our dynamic team. In this unique and rare role, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage application process, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be collaborating and working with Tampa's #1 real estate team to grow your business.
Duties
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and goals.
- Assist clients in completing loan applications and gathering necessary documentation.
- Evaluate client financial information to determine eligibility for various loan products.
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate the loan process from application to closing.
- Negotiate loan terms and conditions with clients while adhering to company policies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations (including TILA), and best practices in mortgage lending.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including Fair Housing regulations.
- Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the mortgage process, addressing any questions or concerns.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar role within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing, escrow processes, and underwriting standards.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with collaboration sales techniques to enhance client relationships.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple loan applications simultaneously.
- Strong financial sales skills and a comprehensive understanding of mortgage servicing and underwriting processes.
- A valid mortgage license is preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe upon hiring.
