What are the responsibilities and job description for the Documentary Film Interns | Summer 2025 position at Motto Pictures?
Motto Pictures is seeking Interns for summer 2025 (mid-May through August). Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the process of making documentaries through development, pre-production, production, post-production, and film distribution stages. The internship will be held mostly out of our office in Brooklyn, with opportunities to work remotely as well. Please attach a cover letter to your resume upon submission.
Please note: Beyond a daily stipend of $25, this internship is UNPAID. Prior to accepting this or any unpaid internship, you must contact your faculty advisor or internship coordinator at your college to see if this internship qualifies you for academic credit.
Learning opportunities may include:
Transcribing interviews
Archival research and organization
Grants & funding research
Minor editing tasks
Social media
Assisting with the daily organizational tasks of a production company.
Weekly informational meetings with producers
Qualifications:
We are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals who are motivated to learn the ins and outs of the documentary film industry. In order to qualify, you must be enrolled in either a college or graduate-level program, and be eligible for course credit. As a small production company, we look for people who are team players and hard workers. Experience in Microsoft Office is required. Experience in Photoshop, Final Cut, Avid, Adobe Premiere and other editing software is a plus, although not required. Proficiency in Spanish is also a plus, but not essential.
