Position Title: Quality Engineer
Reports to: Quality Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on problem solver who is excited about taking Motus to the NEXT level. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining quality processes and procedures in the manufacturing production or process area. This responsibility includes working with customers, suppliers (external and internal), launch and manufacturing team members. A successful candidate will be high energy, driven, resourceful and a problem solver.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all customer specific Advanced Quality Planning requirements, utilizing all applicable customer and internal specific systems throughout launch
- Work with Motus Launch team to ensure that all launch deliverables are completed on time and critical issues are identified and resolved timely
- Leverage resources, best practices, and experience to ensure that quality and business objectives are achieved in new product development
- Responsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all quality systems required within their area of responsibility. This includes working with customers, suppliers (external and internal), Launch personnel, and Manufacturing staff
- Lead APQP and PPAP activities for both internal and external suppliers – including DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans & Track Supplier PPAP readiness and approval of same
- Maintenance of APQP documentation and support of the corrective action process are primary tasks. This includes preparation and submission of customer required documentation and construction of 8D problem solving responses
- Supporting in certification audits and promoting safety in the manufacturing facility
- Manage Gaging needs and Fixture design, on-time build and prove-out (passing Gage R/R)
- The position is primarily first shift, but includes support of other shifts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related
- 3 years of experience in quality manufacturing
- Working knowledge of automotive industry APQP tools (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, PSOs, etc.)
- IATF certification, preferred
- Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance
- Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instructions, inspection procedures, capital proposals)
- Travel required up to 20%
Required for any US facility with Molding Systems:
Assessor Qualifications: Assessor(s) shall have the following specific experience to conduct the Molding System Assessment:
- Be an experienced quality management system (QMS) internal auditor (for example, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 90001)
- Assessor shall possess molding process knowledge. Evidence shall include a minimum of 5 years’ experience in molding processes or combination of formal engineering, education and molding experience totaling a minimum of 5 years
- Assessor shall process knowledge of and be familiar with the application of automotive quality core tools including statistical process control, measurement of systems analysis, part approval, failure mode and effects analysis and advanced quality planning
Required for any location shipping to China:
The Quality Manager (Engineer) shall ensure:
- That the requirements of China's Implementation Rules for Compulsory Certification of Motor Vehicle Products (for interior trim parts: CNCA-C11-09:2014) are fulfilled and that the complete implementation is secured and adjusted periodically according to the given changes.
- That the CCC certified products at all times comply with the Chinese product standard (for interior trim parts: GB 8410-2006).
- That a process instruction exists, which regulates the labeling with the CCC logo.
- That a procedural instruction exists, which ensures that the CCC logo is not applied on either faulty, non-conforming or non-certified products, and not on such products that have been modified after certification without an adjustment of the certificate.
- That a CoP Control Plan is created and implemented
- That any relevant changes are announced to the Chinese Certification Authority
