Job Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist
Location: Old Fort, NC
Reports to: Plant Manager
Key Responsibilities:
General HR Support
- Responsible for overall HR department effectiveness
- Site HRIS administrator
- Responsible for HR KPI’s and action plans to achieve operating results
- Maintain HR files, managing correspondence, and assisting with HR-related projects
- Participate in HR-related meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes, employee engagement, and organizational efficiency
- Responsible to drive continuous improvement mindset within the department and partner to promote the CI culture within the facilit
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers
- Prepare and organize new hire documentation, conduct orientation sessions, and ensure smooth onboarding processes for all new employees
- Maintain accurate records of applicants and new hires, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns
- Assist in resolving employee issues or conflicts and escalate more complex cases to the HR Manager
- Promote a positive work environment through active communication and employee engagement initiatives
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accurate employee time records and deductions
- Maintain employee benefit records, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, and assist employees with benefits-related questions
- Coordinate benefits enrollment and provide employees with relevant information
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and company policies
- Maintain up-to-date employee records, including attendance, performance reviews, training certifications, and disciplinary actions
- Assist in preparing reports for audits and HR metrics as required
Training & Development
- Coordinate training sessions, safety programs, and employee development opportunities
- Track employee training certifications and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the manufacturing plant
Health & Safety
- Assist in promoting and enforcing workplace safety protocols, including the tracking of workplace injuries and accidents
- Maintain records related to workplace safety, including safety certifications and reports
Minimum Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business or related
- 3 years of experience in an HR role (manufacturing environment highly preferred)
- 3 years of experience in an HR leadership role (highly preferred)
- Experience with safety management systems preferred
- Experience with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with hourly recruitment
- Experience and understanding of payroll processing (highly preferred
- Knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and manufacturing industry standards is a plus.
- Ability to support multi-shift plant
