Production Team Member – 1st Shift Foam
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Labels raw materials and finished goods as needed using Plex system
- Uses Kan Ban system to determine sizes and amounts to cut
- Operates foam skiving (slicing) machine
- Operates foam bandsaw machine
- Enters dimensions and sets other machine parameters using HMI (Human Machine Interface)
- Verifies proper machine operations and checks output accuracy
- Must follow safety PPE requirements at all times
- Makes machine adjustments as needed
- Follows standardized work and best practices to minimize downtime
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, turn 25lbs.
- Review, understand and perform work as outlined in the work instructions and procedures in the area
- Recommend improvements and support company continuous improvements initiatives
- Responsible for promoting a safe work environment and preventing injuries through 5S
- Continuously analyze the assigned area of responsibility for improved methods of production, tool design, communication, reporting, cost controls and layout; make recommendations to supervisor for improvements
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to be forklift and crane certified
- This role requires a mechanically inclined skill-set
- No attendance warnings in the last 6 months
- Written warnings received within the last year may impact your eligibility
- No Attendance warnings in the last 6 months
- Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure and digital indicator(s)
- Must possess basic computer skills and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred
- Must be capable of physically performing all essential job functions with reasonable accommodations
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
- Must be capable of physically performing all essential job functions with reasonable accommodations
- If selected, candidate must remain in new role for minimum of 6 months before pursuing other hourly production positions.
