Summary The District is searching for a qualified applicant for Inspector I, II, & III. This position will be filled at the appropriate job series level based on the selected candidate's qualifications.Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Construction and the direct supervision of the Inspection Supervisor performs field inspection duties. Inspector I: This is the entry-level classification in the job series. Incumbents work under close supervision as they learn and perform a limited range of tasks. Familiarization with the District’s facilities, policies and procedures is required at this level. ($33.66 - $43.09 per hour) Inspector II: This is the skilled-level classification in the job series. Incumbents perform the full range of skilled duties. Assignments may encompass a variety of tasks, and may seldom require detailed instructions. Must exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines and show initiative. ($37.88 - $48.49 per hour) Inspector III: This is the journey-level classification in the job series. Incumbents perform the more complex assignments and specialized tasks in the crew, requiring greater knowledge of crew responsibilities and District programs gained through experience and/or training and education. Incumbents must have the ability to train and lead staff. Assignments are varied and require sound independent judgment and initiative. ($42.62 - $54.56 per hour)

Assist in field inspections for capital and land development projects.Ability to successfully accomplish standard operating procedures as assigned by Supervisor.Work varying shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, standby and respond to call backs.Respond to emergencies during and after work hours consistent with the Incident Command System (ICS), Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), and National Incident Management Systems (NIMS).Complete daily logs, maintain record drawings, test reports, and other pertinent files.Read and understand construction plans.Perform other duties as assigned. Inspector II: All essential functions expected of an Inspector I.Perform assigned field inspection duties for capital and land development projects.Read and understand construction plans, prepare as-built drawings, and inspection reports, and is familiar with standard specifications for construction of domestic water, sewer, and reclaimed water facilities.Inspector III: All essential functions expected of an Inspector II.Prepare punch list for final release. Receive and file appropriate construction drawings.Inspect and coordinate construction activities to ensure conformance with approved plans and specifications.Assist with the review of land development projects for District's standards compliance.Prepare record drawings, daily construction reports, and other written reports as necessary for construction activities.Attend pre-construction meetings and any other construction related meetings.Coordinate construction activities with other divisions of the District.Coordinate work with District staff and inspectors to keep them informed on the water system and how it relates to other District pipelines, facilities, and other District operations.Must be able to coordinate emergency repairs utilizing internal and external resources.Train Inspector I and II.

Inspector I, II, & IIIPosition requires the ability to work in a field maintenance environment with the ability to carry, push, pull, reach, and lift equipment weighing up to 80 lbs. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb and be able to work in an environment that could produce exposure to dust, dirt, and significant temperature changes. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must have hearing, vision, eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate equipment and maintain good awareness during maintenance and repair jobs.
