The Mount Abraham Unified School District (MAUSD) is looking for a .50 FTE Literacy Interventionist to join it's educational team at Monkton Central School beginning August 2025. The Literacy Interventionist is an essential member of our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), dedicated to ensuring the academic success of every student. This role involves supporting students in grade 4 through the planning, implementation, and monitoring of literacy intervention programs at the elementary level. The Literacy Interventionist collaborates closely with classroom teachers, literacy coaches, and the MAUSD Literacy Coordinator.Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Support the implementation and progress monitoring of high-quality literacy interventions within an MTSS framework.
Collaborate with the Literacy Leadership Team to review, maintain, and assess the effectiveness of literacy assessment data to ensure consistent district-wide practices. Align instruction with MAUSDs framework and literacy priorities to support student achievement. Implement universally designed literacy tools and resources aligned with Common Core State Standards and college and career readiness. Utilize data-driven decision-making processes to monitor student progress and ensure appropriate interventions.Professional Responsibilities: Implement research-based, equitable pedagogical practices in small-group interventions to close the achievement gap.
Collect and analyze progress monitoring data using reliable and valid measures to inform instruction. Coordinate and collaborate with the MAUSD Literacy Leadership Team, literacy coaches, and the MAUSD Literacy Coordinator. Work with teachers and instructional coaches to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment strategies with intervention methods. Lead data-driven discussions with educators and administrators to analyze trends and refine instructional practices.
Participate in school-wide cross-functional teams as appropriate.
