Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment
Come join us at Mt. Carmel Care Center! We are a Faith-Based, Non-Profit, boutique-sized Long-Term Care facility (69 beds), nestled in the heart of the Berkshires. Twice voted "Best of the Berkshires," we are sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm since 2013 and maintain a mission-based environment for our staff and residents.
We are looking for an Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment - Perdiem (fill-in whenever needed).
Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Qualifications:
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Certification as an Activity Assistant preferred.
- Prior experience working with the older population and knowledge of therapeutic recreation and other activities preferred.
- Must be able to read and write English.
Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Job Summary:
- Assists in planning the monthly activity calendar.
- Works as part of the interdisciplinary team to promote holistic health care for residents.
- Transports residents to and from activities.
- Documents individual progress for all designed activities.
- Capable of pushing residents in wheel chairs.
- Assists in delivery of the newspapers and mail daily.
- Reports significant attitude and behaviors of residents during activities to their charge nurse or nursing supervisor.
- Implements planned activities daily.

Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Working Conditions:
- Requires light physical effort on a regular basis, as in frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items. (up to 20 lbs.) pushing/ pulling wheelchairs.
- Must be able to work flexible scheduled hours, daily and weekly.
- Weekend coverage required.
