Academic Advisor
Position Purpose:
The Academic Advisor serves as student academic advisor, advocate for new and continuing students attending MCCN. Facilitates student persistence and enrollment management , develops and monitors student educational plans while assisting with their academic journey.
What we are looking for:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, health sciences or a related degree required; Master’s preferred
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in academic student advisement; including, but not limited to online adult student advisement
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Highly organized
- Self-directed
- Customer service oriented to both students and colleagues within the college and community
- Ability to provide a high level of support and guidance to students, and follow up
- Understanding of student information systems (SIS) usage and ability to develop data and reporting system
