Job Title: Laboratory Technologist (Part-time)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Mount Carmel Health System. As a Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and STAT laboratory analysis on blood and body fluids while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical testing accurately, timely, and efficiently using laboratory and point-of-care equipment
- Operate all laboratory equipment and assist with transport, outpatient/inpatient specimen collection, and delivery of blood and blood products
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with facility personnel, medical staff, patients, and the community
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations, such as code blue and emergency operations plan
- Confer with Registered Nurses and Physicians relative to testing availability, specimen collection, and patient preparation
- Provide patient and family education relative to phlebotomy and expectations related to process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in all areas of the laboratory, preferably
- Able to perform professional responsibilities with minimal supervision and/or independently
- Flexibility in schedule, with ability to cover different shifts, weekends, and holidays
