CLASS TITLE : SCHOOL BUS DRIVER
DEFINITION : Under general supervision, operates a school vehicle in transporting children to and from school and on special trips; and performs related work as required.
Work Length : 5 hours daily / 25 hours a week - split-shift
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES :
- Develops the most efficient route for transportation of assigned students
- Drives bus along route, stops and designated points to pick up or discharge students
- Maintains order and enforces rules
- Reports and cities for disciplinary action in cases of extreme or repeated unruliness
- Reports incidents
- Files accident reports when necessary
- Makes routine safety checks on vehicle
- Reports problems or equipment malfunctioning
- Maintains records of all trips
- Keeps bus clean
