Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Marine Technician. This entry-level position offers hands-on training and mentorship in the marine industry, focusing on the repair, maintenance, and installation of boat systems and components. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, passionate about boats and marine systems, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior technicians with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines, electrical systems, and other onboard equipment.
  • Learn to install and service accessories such as bimini tops, navigation systems, and other boat enhancements.
  • Support the team in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks under supervision, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and on-site at marinas.
  • Document work performed and assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in the marine industry.
  • Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in mechanical and electrical work.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying outdoor conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience or training in mechanical or electrical systems (automotive, small engine, or marine).
  • Familiarity with boats and marine equipment.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
