Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Marine Technician. This entry-level position offers hands-on training and mentorship in the marine industry, focusing on the repair, maintenance, and installation of boat systems and components. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines, electrical systems, and other onboard equipment.
- Learn to install and service accessories such as bimini tops, navigation systems, and other boat enhancements.
- Support the team in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks under supervision, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery installations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and on-site at marinas.
- Document work performed and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in the marine industry.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in mechanical and electrical work.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying outdoor conditions.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience or training in mechanical or electrical systems (automotive, small engine, or marine).
- Familiarity with boats and marine equipment.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
