Westaff is currently seeking an entry level Receiver and General Laborer to work with the manufacturing shop team to ensure our products are designed, built and delivered right every time.

The ideal candidate will be a team player and have mechanical aptitude. Job duties will include, but not limited to, offloading trucks upon delivery, uncrating/unpackaging all equipment for further inspection, yard maintenance & preparing small packages for shipment as required (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
Position Type: Full-time position – 8 hour shift, Monday through Friday
Work Location: One location, Georgetown, MA
Essential Functions:
- Conduct physical inspection of all incoming shipments of equipment and materials for missing or damaged components, visual defects etc. **NOTE ALL DAMAGES ON BOL’S OR PACKING LISTS UPON DELIVERY**
- Check BOL/packing lists to account for accurate material descriptions & quantities etc. Ensuring accurate inventory of materials and noting any discrepancies as required.
- Upon verification, note all deliveries on a Daily Receiving Log; report incoming material to Materials Manager for immediate allocation.
- Distribute metal sheet stock to corresponding bin for plasma station.
- Stage materials & equipment for release by the Materials Manager.
- Warehouse maintenance; maintain cleanliness of warehouse floor including process and production areas-daily trash removal upon start and completion of start of shift.
- Monitor and organize stock room materials and components and fill bins as needed.
- Prepare materials components for upcoming jobs as required.
- Enter receipt of incoming materials and components into data system
- Required to use manufacturing software to enter receipt of components
- Other technical capabilities with company software platforms
- Other tasks as needed or assigned by Foreman
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in a fast paced, large non-temperature controlled manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift 10-50 lbs. with the assistance of another employee or using a cart
- Ability to pass criminal background and drug screening
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (previous receiving experience is a plus)
- Experience with manufacturing software a plus
- Ability to operate a fork truck or be trained on safe fork truck operation
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
