What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Lead (2nd Shift) position at Mount Franklin Foods, LLC?
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Helps establish work priorities in conjunction with supervisor. Receives assignments from supervisor, then assigns and trains members of the group in safe and correct work procedures and performance required.
- Plans work to be performed by the group. Assists assigned personnel in resolving on-the-job technical problems.
- Arranges for necessary tools and supplies. Utilize vendors supply catalogs and training manuals as needed.
- Inspects, coordinates, and records work performed by the group.
- Must be able to interact with maintenance to keep machines at optimum production capacity to accomplish the job.
- Refers problems involving job discipline to supervisor for handling
- Complies and enforces security norms and food quality
- Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product.
- Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- May substitute for supervisor in his/her absence
- May relieve employees in the group during breaks, lunch, etc
Education and Qualifications
- Interest in and ability to lead employees and delegate work assignments
- 1-year experience as a group leader
- Bilingual preferred
- Basic math, reading skills, good communication skills, written and oral.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be able willing to work with very little notice upon business needs.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-learner and ability to multi task
- Basic computer knowledge
- Must be able to cross-train in other positions including departments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance

- Able to operate a pallet jack and safely move up to 2000 lbs. of product
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate properly
- Must be able to stand, walk, work in an environment where stooping, twisting and bending are frequent up to 10 hrs.
