Vice President of Retail Sales

Summary of Job

Sells MFF products by maintaining and expanding customer base. Working both with customers and MFF employees. Oversees the daily business within sale region.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Accomplishes regional sales objectives by appointing and managing brokers in given market to sell to our retail accounts.
• Achieves regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining regional sales system improvements; implementing change.
• Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Making sure region achieves profitability.
• Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for accounts and broker areas in support of national objectives.
• Maintains and expands customer base, building and maintaining rapport with key customers, identifying new customer opportunities.
• Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends within accounts and broker area; tracking competitors.
• Implements trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
• Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Available to travel 30 to 40% of time.
  
  

Education And Qualifications

• College Degree Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
• 10 years of sales experience
• Experience in selling grocery, mass and c-store
• Food or beverage experience
• Kroger experience a plus
• Excellent analytical skills and comfort with math
• Excellent at customer service
• Ability to multitask
• Creative problem-solving skills
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound.
• Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
• The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
