What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Education Teacher position at Mount Greylock Regional School District?
The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating an environment that fosters, promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship between healthy body function and exercise for students in grades 7-12. A successful teacher will cultivate physical fitness as well as social-emotional well-being and create an environment that prompts students to discover and develop talents connected to physical achievement. The PE teacher will design instructional units to support the development of strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination through individual, dual and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each students ability. The teacher will also support the department's teaching of health units.Teaching Certification from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Required (Academic Teacher: Physical Education 5-12).
Masters Degree Preferred, Bachelors Degree Required. 1-3 Years of professional experience preferred.All offers of employment with Mount Greylock Regional School District are contingent upon satisfactory results of the employment screening process including SAFIS (CHRI) Federal and CORI State background check reports.
